Liz Barrett, Certified Wine Specialist
Liz Barrett is a creative, well-connected communications expert with 20-plus years of experience. Prior to starting her own company, Liz was head of PR and marketing communications for an international luxury wine company. She established her business in 2017 to pursue her passions focusing on food, drinks and lifestyle clients.
Having worked on both sides of the fence: in-house and in agencies, she knows corporate, consumer and trade communications and uses marketplace insights and trends to help clients carve out ownable niches and tell stories that matter. Liz has gotten her clients into print, broadcast and digital media outlets including Wine Enthusiast, Forbes.com, Dow Jones Marketwatch, the Chicago Tribune, WGN-TV, Vinepair.com, The Wall Street Journal and more.
Liz also is a skilled facilitator of corporate messages and brand strategy sessions and brainstorms, helping guide productive group conversation and thinking that guides the articulation of a cohesive story. Through a series of group exercises, Liz helps brands find their identity. Because if you don’t know who you are, how is anyone else supposed to figure it out?
In her spare time, Liz passed the Society of Wine Educators Certified Specialist of Wine exam in 2015. She writes about wine and food at What’s in That Bottle. She also is a board member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, and she sometimes plays fiddle with a folk/rock band, cheats death biking the mean streets and shorelines of Chicago and cooks for friends and family.
